Jennifer Falstrault is a partner at SeidenFreed LLC.

For over 25 years, Jennifer has represented clients in all areas of matrimonial and family law. Known for her strategic insight and tenacity, she resolves difficult cases through negotiation and vigorous courtroom advocacy.

Jennifer’s experience includes high-net-worth matters that often involve complex valuation, tax, income, and asset tracing issues. For years, she’s collaborated with leading financial experts to prepare matters for mediation and litigation. She has tried cases involving complicated business and asset appraisals—even successfully settling such issues mid-trial after presenting her evidence.

Jennifer also brings broad knowledge and trial experience to custody and parenting matters. She guides parents through some of the most taxing and heart-wrenching circumstances they will face, counseling them on how best to approach and resolve issues privately and with dignity. She has litigated and tried cases involving legal and physical custody, parenting schedules, relocation, grandparent visitation, non-parent custody, and supervised visitation.

Perhaps most importantly, Jennifer has resolved hundreds of matters through marital settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, and other arrangements. After decades in this practice area, she understands that an agreement not only requires careful and thoughtful drafting but also collaborative work to finalize the deal. Successfully negotiating agreements can be both an art and a science, and it’s a skill Jennifer is particularly proud of.

Jennifer was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1998 and the New York Bar in 1999. She has actively practiced law in both States throughout her career and has favorably argued family law matters before the New Jersey Appellate Division.

Before joining SeidenFreed, Jennifer was a member of the matrimonial departments of Kasowitz LLP and Blank Rome LLP. From 2021 to 2023, Jennifer was Kasowitz’s most senior matrimonial partner when it was recognized as “Best Law Firm” in Family Law by U.S. News & World Report. She has also been selected for inclusion as a “Best Lawyer” by Best Lawyers in America for each year from 2017 to 2025.*

Jennifer has lectured on family law at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (Yeshiva University). She served as faculty for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ three-day intensive program, training CPAs as expert witnesses in business valuation. She has also lectured for the New York State Bar Association. Jennifer is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Family Law section.

Jennifer graduated magna cum laude from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1998. She was a member of the Cardozo Law Review and elected to Cardozo’s chapter of the Order of the Coif. Earlier, in 1992, Jennifer earned a B.A. from Rutgers University, where she was a Stanton Anthony Scholar.

Jennifer was born and raised in Central Jersey, a place she holds dear to her heart. Since then, she’s lived up and down New Jersey’s coastline, from the vibrant gold coast of Hudson and Bergen Counties to the beautiful shores of Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
