Alimony

Alimony and spousal support can cause tension in many divorces. The issues may vary widely between high-income and median-income families. We examine the ability of the higher-earning spouse to provide support, as well as the need for the lesser-earning spouse for support. We also work with our clients to understand the marital lifestyle and its relationship to a determination of alimony/spousal support.

Child Support

For many families, child support obligations can often be determined by applying the New Jersey Child Support Guidelines. High-income families, however, may face particular challenges in determining child support and addressing child-related expenses, as the New Jersey Child Support Guidelines become inapplicable. Additional issues may arise where parties are self-employed or earn income outside of a W-2.
